Performance Grades
PG70 – PG-70-34
Petra Oil’s PG 70-34 is an advanced-grade asphalt binder developed for the most extreme climatic conditions—where infrastructure must withstand both intense summer heat and exceptionally cold winters. This binder is formulated to meet Superpave performance grading standards, delivering unmatched flexibility at very low temperatures (down to -34°C) alongside high stiffness and rutting resistance at elevated pavement temperatures (up to 70°C).
Engineered for critical infrastructure in subarctic and high-altitude regions, PG 70-34 provides superior protection against thermal cracking, rutting, and fatigue damage. Its robust performance in the face of extreme thermal stress makes it ideal for pavements where failure is not an option, ensuring long-term structural integrity and reduced lifecycle maintenance.
Manufactured to meet and exceed AASHTO M320 specifications, PG 70-34 ensures dependable consistency and resilience, batch after batch, even under the most punishing conditions.
Key Specifications of PG 70-34:
• Performance Grade: PG 70-34
• High-Temperature Grade: 70°C
• Low-Temperature Grade: -34°C
• Standard Compliance: AASHTO M320
• Type: Superpave Performance Grade Asphalt Binder
Main Applications of PG 70-34:
• Arctic and Subarctic Highways: Tailored for areas where extremely low temperatures are common and long winters dominate.
• Mountainous and High-Elevation Roads: Withstands dramatic daily and seasonal temperature shifts.
• Strategic and Military Routes: Built to endure high loads and critical reliability, regardless of climate extremes.
Key Benefits of PG 70-34:
• Extreme Cold Resistance: Engineered for flexibility at ultra-low temperatures to prevent thermal cracking.
• High-Temperature Performance: Maintains strength under heavy traffic and summer heat.
• Reliable Under Harsh Conditions: Ideal for roads where failure due to climate extremes is unacceptable.
• Consistent, High-Quality Binder: Produced under stringent quality controls for uniform performance.
