Polymer Modified Bitumen
Plastomeric Thermoplastic Based – Grade P-40
Petra Oil’s Grade P-40 is a versatile and economical Plastomeric Thermoplastic Based Modified Bitumen, crafted for medium-traffic roadways and general infrastructure projects. With a softening point of 40°C, P-40 is designed for environments with mild to moderate climate conditions, providing enhanced surface durability and resistance to early-stage rutting and fatigue.
This grade is well-suited for municipal roads, local streets, and commercial access roads where budget-conscious solutions must still meet performance and longevity requirements. P-40 enhances the strength of the pavement compared to conventional bitumen while providing a smoother and more resilient road surface.
Key Specifications:
- Softening Point: 40°C
- Binder Type: Plastomeric Thermoplastic Based Modified Bitumen
- Standard Compliance: IS 15462:2019
- Recommended For: Moderate Climate and Traffic Areas
Main Applications of P-40:
- Municipal Roads & Town Streets: Delivers enhanced performance for everyday traffic loads in suburban and small-town environments.
- Access Roads to Residential & Commercial Areas: Provides improved flexibility and surface finish for light-to-medium use.
- Rural Roads: Strengthens road performance where standard bitumen may degrade more quickly due to weather exposure.
Benefits of P-40:
- Enhanced durability over conventional bitumen
- Ideal for infrastructure projects in moderate climates
- Economical choice for upgrading road surface performance
- Easy to work with during construction due to balanced flexibility
