Performance Grades
Bitumen PG 70-10
Petra Oil’s PG 70-10 is a premium performance grade asphalt binder developed for regions experiencing prolonged high temperatures and moderate winter conditions. As part of the Superpave Performance Grade (PG) system, PG 70-10 is engineered to offer exceptional resistance to rutting and deformation in hot climates while maintaining sufficient flexibility to withstand occasional temperature drops to -10°C.
PG 70-10 is ideal for regions where summer pavement temperatures routinely exceed 70°C, and it ensures long-lasting road surfaces that resist the stress of heavy traffic, braking, and slow-moving loads. Its high-temperature stability makes it the preferred binder for expressways, city roads, and industrial areas in arid and semi-arid environments.
This grade is manufactured in strict compliance with AASHTO M320 specifications, ensuring consistency and reliability for engineers and contractors. It provides strong adhesion to aggregates, excellent workability during mixing and compaction, and superior resistance to bleeding and softening even under extreme heat.
Key Specifications:
- Performance Grade: PG 70-10
- High-Temperature Grade: 70°C
- Low-Temperature Grade: -10°C
- Standard Compliance: AASHTO M320
- Binder Type: Performance Grade Asphalt Binder (Superpave)
Main Applications:
- Urban Roads and Main Arterials – Designed for use in areas with frequent stop-and-go traffic, where surface stability and rut resistance are critical.
- National and Regional Highways – Provides long-lasting performance in hot, dry climates with moderate winter fluctuations.
- Commercial Driveways and Bus Lanes – Ideal for routes subjected to heavy axle loads and repeated thermal cycles.
Key Benefits:
- Exceptional High-Temperature Performance: Prevents rutting and deformation under heavy traffic and hot weather.
- Moderate Low-Temperature Flexibility: Performs well in regions with minimal winter cracking risk.
- Extended Pavement Life: Reduces the frequency of maintenance and repair interventions.
- Excellent Adhesion and Durability: Offers consistent mix performance and long-term structural integrity.
